Abstract
The study investigated the morphological and functional characteristics of macrophages of different localization, isolated from intact animals and animals with a model of diabetes mellitus type I. The study was performed on rat macrophage cultures isolated from the following areas: lungs, spleen, liver, and peritoneal cavity. The following morphometric parameters were determined: S cells, cytoplasm and nuclei, nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio (NCO). The phenotype was determined by the expression of CD163 and CD80. The macrophage cytokine activity was assessed by the level of IL-1α, IL-10 and TNFα. The morphological characteristics of macrophages from various organs were demonstrated and their functional differences were revealed.
