PECULIARITIES OF IMMUNE RESPONSE TO MEASLES VACCINATION IN SERONEGATIVE ADULTS

Abstract
100 healthy adults aged 18–30 years were examined for the presence of measles immunity. A protective level of measles antibodies was found in 32%, and in 68% of adults such antibodies were not detected. Specific cellular immunity to measles virus antigens was detected in 57.37% of the examined individuals, in 26.07% of them specific cellular immunity to measles viruses was not detected, and in 6.56% the response was regarded as equivocal. Seronegative adults were vaccinated with measles cultural live vaccine (“Vector”, Russia). After 6 weeks, protective levels of anti-measles antibodies were detected in all vaccinated patients, the average level was 2.18 (1.40‒3.68) IU/ml. Specific cellular immunity to antigens of measles viruses in 3 people was regarded as equivocal, in the rest of the vaccinated as positive.
