Abstract

The phenomenon of detection of hemophagocytic macrophages in newborns with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) was studied. It has been shown that detection of hemophagocytic macrophages in peripheral blood takes place in newborns with severe manifestations of MODS and is a prog-nostically unfavorable sign.
