Abstract
15 patients with infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), 16 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and 12 healthy donors were examined. Amount of CD14hiCD16–, CD14hiCD16lo, CD14loCD16lo and CD14loCD16– monocytes in the blood was evaluated by flow-cytometry, and galectin-2 and -9 concentration was measured by ELISA. Increase in the number of CD14hiCD16lo monocytes, differentiated from the CD14hiCD16– cells, and decrease in the content of galectin-2 and CD14lo CD16– monocytes in the blood were characteristic of TB. In COPD, an increase in the concentration of galectin-9 and the proportion of CD14hiCD16– monocytes against the background of deficiency of other their subpopulations in the blood was noted.
